For students in Ms. Dominique’s class, the question is one they ask every day. To help students get excited about logging on to learn, Ms. Dominique has built lessons around a brood of baby chicks that she hatched in her own kitchen.

“Even our more reluctant students are excited to see how the chicks are growing and to watch them hop around,” she said. “We are finding ways to make remote learning fun and dynamic, and to build social skills around shared interests.”
