Forum School Board membersIn order to grow with strength, you need a ‘solid foundation,’ and that is true of The Forum School. The Forum School Foundation, established in 1963 — about a decade after the school opened its doors — has a singular mission: ensure the fiscal stability and integrity of the school.

Over the years, scores of civic-minded community leaders have volunteered their time and talent to help guide the Foundation. “For all of us, it is just a matter of helping out,” said John Albohm, President and Chairman of the Foundation.

Forum School main entrance under construction

The Foundation funded recent security improvements to the entryway at The Forum School, along with other renovations.

While the Foundation has hosted dinner dances and other events, the biggest and most well recognized fundraiser was the sale of Forum Feasts, a cookbook that sold more than 300,000 copies in 22 printings and generated more than $1M in sales to support the school. First produced in 1967, the cookbook caught the attention of socialite Amy Vanderbilt, who called it “remarkable.”

It is because of the Foundation that The Forum School has been able to launch a major construction project. Recent renovations to the building, including new lighting and security features, have been fully funded by the Foundation. Safety improvements – front door entranceway, new public address system, cameras and one-touch lockdown systems – reflect the very real concerns of the 21st century.

And for those of you who want to check out more than 1,200 recipes, Forum Feasts is for sale on Amazon.
